Customs Data Shows May Aluminum Exports and Imports
According to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs, in May 2024, China exported 560,000 tons of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products, an increase of 18.7% year-on-year. From January to May, the cumulative exports reached 2.56 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 10.8%.
In May, China exported 100,000 tons of alumina, a decrease of 7.6% year-on-year. From January to May, the cumulative exports totaled 650,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 34.0%.
In May, China imported 310,000 tons of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products, an increase of 61.1% year-on-year. From January to May, the cumulative imports amounted to 1.8 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 81.7%.
Additionally, in May, China imported 13.55 million tons of bauxite and its concentrates, an increase of 4.7% year-on-year. From January to May, the cumulative imports reached 64.04 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.8%.
